The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has named an Aurora Health Care nurse to serve on the Health Information Technology Standards Committee.
Judy Murphy, vice president of information systems, is one of only two nurses named to the federal advisory committee. The committee is charged with making recommendations on standards, implementation and certification criteria for the electronic exchange and use of health information.
Murphy has led technology implementations in both hospitals and clinics at Aurora including ePrescribing, computerized physician order entry, bar-coded patient identification and medication administration, automated clinical documentation, and embedded evidence-based decision support for nursing and medical care.
